Bellevue United FC is bringing the best training and brand of soccer to West Bellevue with the addition of Aaron Byers and Danny Rogers, as the Clubs new Director of Coaching and Technical Director respectively.

Byers is a long time soccer coach and trainer in the Seattle area having trained and coached at FC Barcelona and Kleiben's 3Four3 Academy, and coached at EFC and our sister club MIFC. Rogers coached at the LA Galaxy Academy and Kleiben's 3Four3 Academy, and most recently at EFC and MIFC.  They are further supported by our professional coaches that have won numerous State Cups, and guest appearances by players from the Sounders FC and Reign FC.

BUFC's soccer program allows kids to play at Select and Premier levels of soccer with their neighborhood friends and schoolmates but without the requirement to specialize in just one sport year-round.  All teams form as Select teams initially and may move onto Premier as warranted by their level of play such as with BUFC's 05 girls which play in RCL Division 2.  Practices are generally in West Bellevue, including the Wilburton area.

For some, Select soccer is the answer for the serious athlete involved in more than one sport as Select coaches usually allow for "excused" absences during the winter portion of the season. BUFC consistently produces highly competitive teams for both boys and girls.  Practices are typically twice a week with the games on Saturday or Sunday.  If you are looking for the Premier experience with your friends but without single-sport specialization, the commute time and expense of Premier, BUFC is a great path.

The "main" season is 10-12 weeks long in the fall for Select, preceded by various tournaments in the summer months and a post-season tournament in the winter and or spring depending upon the team. Travel for games during regular season can be as far north as North Whidbey Island, as far west as Bremerton, as far south as Olympia and as far east as North Bend if on a Select team.  Summer tournaments are typically played in the greater Seattle and or Puget Sound area with some teams opting to travel to Oregon for tournaments.

Some teams continue to play as desired in NPSL Spring League soccer or the RCL President's Cup whether with their team fully intact or through a joint team with players from sister clubs to form a fully rostered team.

If your child wants to train with some of the best, compete at a high level, play with friends in West Bellevue and build lifelong friendships, BUFC is worth exploring.

A few spots may still be available throughout the year.  Email if interested in joining a team.

High School Boys Tryouts End of February

All Other Tryouts in late April and May

Tryouts will be held the last week of April into May.  Stay tuned for exact days and times.

The first step is forming our teams through a 2-practice player evaluation (aka tryout) process.

Each soccer player is assigned a numbered penny at check-in; this is how each player is identified during both tryout sessions. Coaches evaluate players' skills, notes are compiled when tryouts are over, and then teams are selected.

There are a few things to note:

  • There will be a Parent Q&A session at the beginning of the tryout (on the first day). This is a great opportunity to learn more out the Bellevue United FC Select Program and get your questions answered.

  • We will ask that parents remain a good distance AWAY from the field where tryouts are being held, or go home, run an errand, etc. Parents are not allowed to interact with players on the field.

  • Players are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend both tryouts

  • Team selections are posted (by penny number) here, date and time TBD.

  • If your child wants to tryout for an older team and "play-up", please merely sign up with your child's actual birth year and then when checking-in at tryouts check-in with the age group you wish to tryout for.  It is highly recommended that your child also tryout for his or her birth year just in case your child does not make the play-up team.

  • BUFC and MIFC will be sharing tryout spaces this year.  If you desire to also tryout for MIFC as well, not a problem, merely register for tryouts at their site as well and on day of tryouts check-in with both clubs (register with MIFC here).

There is a $25.00 fee for trying out with a Premier or Select team.

Questions about the tryout process or which team to tryout for?  Please review the Select FAQ.  After reviewing the FAQ, if you have unanswered questions please email the Select Registrar.
