Select Soccer Try Outs / 2020-2021 Season
What You Need to Know

In a typical year, now is the time we would be getting excited about preparing for Select Team Try-outs and the anticipation of the team formations. However, in light of the unique environment, BUFC (along with our new families from Newport FC, now a part of BUFC) has decided on a new approach for this upcoming soccer season.
Even under normal circumstances try-outs can be both exciting and stressful for players and parents. While the assessment of player skill and fit is important for determining team composition and fostering positive experiences for players, our primary aim has always been and will continue to be to enable as many kids as possible to be excited and passionate about playing the game of soccer, from recreational through to elite levels of play.

If you plan to return to BUFC, please reach out to your coach now with your intent to return for the season and REGISTER HERE by May 31st. Returning players will be assigned to their teams from the prior season. In order for the club to determine our field assignments, equipment needs, coaches etc. we rely on our registrations to guide our planning.
Returning players will get the $25 registration fee reduced from overall season total once a return to play date is set. Please reach out to our Select Registrar, Amy Ulrich, with any questions.
All BUFC players will participate in 1 month of training which will take the place of standard tryout formats. This will remove the two-day tryout stress and give both returning and new players an opportunity to be themselves, have fun and experience a more relaxed atmosphere of observation and interaction with their coaches. Again, EVERY PLAYER will have a team at BUFC!
Training schedules, field assignments, etc. will be communicated once we are able to identify our timeline following the movement through the 'Phases' discussed by Gov. Inslee. We can start training in small groups (5 players) in Phase 2.
Current estimates indicate the potential for a late June start for the season and the club is working hard to make sure we are ready to roll.
New players to BUFC will practice with their age group upon season kickoff and at the end of the first month of training will be assigned to a team representative of their skill level. We want to be sure that EVERY PLAYER HAS A HOME WITH BUFC!
Registration for the 2020/2021 Select season is now $1,025 ($1,050 - $25 registration fee). Payment plans are available upon accepting a spot on a team.
Further, if necessary, we will adjust our annual fees accordingly based on the months we are able to be on the field.
You can register now for only $25 to demonstrate your interest and intent to play with our club. We understand there is uncertainty in your lives, and the more we know about who is planning to play this season, the better we can prepare to provide the continued level of coaching and development you have come to expect from BUFC.
We are fortunate to have many teams and levels of play within our club, and as such we guarantee a team at the appropriate level for every player. As we receive your registrations we will use this data to prepare for field allocation, number of teams and simply getting ready for another season of soccer!
**Please note, in the event our 2020-2021 season gets cancelled or significantly delayed due to Covid-19, we will issue refunds and/or pro-rations to those that registered. This is different than what our normal refund policy states.**
